Ryedale is packed with brilliant things to do this Easter, whatever the weather! Indoors, outdoors or both, there's something for everyone ...

You might have been watching Channel 5’s ‘All Aboard the Yorkshire Express’ and now want to experience this fabulous steam railway first hand.

Well, of course now you can as the North Yorkshire Moors Railway is open for the 2018 season.

Find out more here! Trains from both Pickering and Whitby and stopping at stations in between.

Flamingo Land is a firm family favourite and is open from 24th March to 4th November 2018. New for this year is 'Flamingo 1 ', a chance for everyone to demonstrate their driving skills on a exciting figure-of-eight circuit.

There’s also the Peter Rabbit® Adventure and a number of live events, exciting rides and animals galore! Find out more here.

Yorkshire Lavender has been relaxing their customers for over 21 years at their beautiful location near Terrington, not far from Castle Howard.

This year’s opening dates are from 24th March to 23rd September 2018.
This spectacular site includes delightful gardens, a gift shop, tearoom, a play area and specialist plant nursery.

Dalby, Part of the Great Yorkshire Forest, is located between Pickering and Whitby. Whether you like to pedal your bike or take an exhilarating hike, this is the place for you. Stroll around the visitor centre, tire out the kids on the play areas and enjoy some tranquil forest trails.

Run by the Forestry Commission, this venue also attracts great live acts – see George Ezra on 24th June!
Castle Howard needs no introduction and their Easter events are always worth attending. There are few stately homes as iconic as this one, used for films and TV programmes on numerous occasions. Their Easter Holiday events take place from 24th March to 15th April 2018 and include egg hunts, magic shows and lots more.

Of course, there are many other attractions and events in the Ryedale area – we’ve mentioned just a few here. There’s also Ryedale Folk Museum
Eden Camp Modern History Museum and Malton Museum all waiting to welcome visitors.

And how can Station Taxis help you make the most of this egg-citing time of year? Well, you can book one of our friendly drivers who would be happy to take you to any of the above locations, some of which aren’t easy to get to without a car. Contact us or give us a buzz on 01653 696969 and we’d be happy to help.
